SQUAD - TEAM

OUR COMPETITION TEAMS ATTEND VARIOUS COMPETITIONS AND CONVENTIONS THROUGHOUT THE SEASON, GIVING DANCERS THE OPPORTUNITY TO PERFORM, RECEIVE FEEDBACK, AND COME TOGETHER AS A COMPANY. OUR COMPETITION SEASON MAY INCLUDE VENUES SUCH AS SHOWSTOPPERS, RADIX, STARBOUND, THUNDERSTRUCK, NUVO AND 24 SEVEN.
SQUAD REQUIREMENTS

STUDENTS ENROLLING OR PARTICIPATING IN OUR COMPETITIVE DANCE TEAM MUST TAKE A MINIMUM OF THE FOLLOWING CLASSES.
SENIORS (15-18 YRS OLD)
85 MINUTE CLASSES:

MELANIE KATZEN'S DANCE JOURNEY BEGAN AT THE AGE OF FIVE WHEN SHE BEGAN TRAINING COMPETITIVELY. BY THE YOUNG AGE OF THIRTEEN, MELANIE KNEW SHE WANTED TO PURSUE A CAREER IN THE FIELD, AND ATTENDED CHAMPS CHARTER HIGH SCHOOL OF THE ARTS. SHE CONTINUED ON TO EARN HER BFA DEGREE IN DANCE EDUCATION & CHOREOGRAPHY. AFTER YEARS OF EXPERIENCE AND WORKING WITH SOME THE INDUSTRIES BEST - SHE CREATED MBODIMENT STUDIOS AS A SAFE HAVEN FOR YOUNG ARTISTS; CHALLENGING AND ENCOURAGING THEM THROUGH MOVEMENT.

A DANCE TEACHER THAT IS MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE. TIA J HAS PERFORMED, TAUGHT, AND CHOREOGRAPHED SINCE THE AGE OF SIXTEEN. TIA HAS SET FIRE THROUGHOUT HER DANCING CAREER PERFORMING WITH CHERYL LYNN, ROBIN ANTIN, KAT GRAHAM, CIRUS COULE AND DRIZZEE RASCAL TO NAME A FEW.
EVA SILVERTON

EVA SILVERTON STARTED DANCING AT THE AGE OF 4 AND BEGAN COMPETING AT REGIONAL & NATIONAL DANCE COMPETITIONS. EVA STUDIED AT LACHSA, AN ARTS HIGH SCHOOL IN DTLA. EVA CONTINUED HER STUDIES AT ALONZO KING LINES BFA PROGRAM AND OBTAINED HER DEGREE WITH A MINOR IN ARTS ADMINISTRATION. DURING HER TIME IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA, EVA WAS A COMPANY MEMBER OF XOCHIPILLI DANCE COMPANY. SHE IS NOW TEACHING AT MBODIMENT STUDIOS AND ON HER WAY TO BECOMING A CERTIFIED GYROKINESIS TEACHER.
ALICIA MULLIKIN

ALICIA MULLIKIN IS A FIRST GENERATION MEXICAN-AMERICAN DANCE ARTIST, EDUCATOR, COMMUNITY ORGANIZER, AND FOUNDER OF EL SUEÑO. HER WORK WEAVES ANCIENT AND CONTEMPORARY IDENTITIES INTO PHYSICAL MANIFESTATIONS BY DRAWING FROM HER RICH CULTURAL EXPERIENCES AND DEEP-ROOTED ANCESTRAL TIES.

ROYAL ACADEMY OF DANCE CERTIFIED WITH A BS IN DANCE KINESIOLOGY, MISS JACLYN BEGAN THE ONLY PUBLIC SCHOOL RAC PROGRAM IN THE U.S. AT CHAMPS CHARTER HIGH SCHOOL OF THE ARTS WHERE SHE SERVED AS DEPARTMENT CHAIR AND TEACHER FOR A DECADE. MISS JACLYN TEACHES NUMEROUS STYLES INCLUDING BALLET, TAP & JAZZ AS THE DIRECTOR OF RBDA PERFORMANCE COMPANIES.
DRESS CODE
FOR BALLET CLASSES, STUDENTS ARE ASKED TO WEAR TIGHTS AND A LEOTARD OR DANCE BELT.
IN ALL OTHER CLASSES AND REHEARSALS, STUDENTS ARE ASKED TO WEAR SUPPORTIVE, BREATHABLE CLOTHING.
